Jim Rohr - Lifetime Achievement
Jim Rohr, born October 18,1948, is the retired Chairman of PNC Financial Services Group (commonly known as PNC Bank) and former CEO.
Mr. Rohr spent his entire professional life at PNC affiliated or predecessor companies. His positive performance as Chairman and CEO has earned him much praise and acclaim, including the 2007 American Banker's “Banker of the Year Award”.
Announcing to the company in February of 2013 his desire to vacate his CEO role after that year’s stockholders meeting, he also made the decision to completely retire from the company in 2014 after having been named to the Board of Directors of the General Electric Company in September of 2013.
The announcement in April of 2014 meant vacating his role as chairman of PNC after more than 42 years of service, and 13 years as CEO.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Jim Rohr was graduated from St. Ignatius High School, and then the University of Notre Dame in 1970 with a B.A. degree. Two years later he earned an MBA from The Ohio State University. He is married to his wife, Sharon, who is from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. They are the proud parents of daughters Julie Golden and Kristen Rohr, a son Jim Rohr and five grandchildren.
